Deer Run Nature Preserve Trail and Directions
The Deer Run Nature Preserve Trail is a public 2.2 mile low-gradient footpath (4.4-mile round trip) to the “Monument”. The trail takes you from “beauty spot” to “beauty spot”- waterfalls, babbling brooks, ancient trees, stone walls, hardwood savannas and spectacular views.
From Route 30 turn onto the Dummerston Covered Bridge then turn left onto Camp Arden Road. Coming on the East West Road from Dummerston Center, go straight at the stop sign instead of crossing the bridge. About 1/2 mile from the Covered Bridge bear left at the fork in the road and follow the river. Continue for another mile. Watch for a tree on the right that says 922. The trailhead is just past that sign. Park your car and look for the pink ribbons that mark the trail.
In the spring of 2020, this parking area will be improved and there will be permanent markers on the trail.
