- GMC is grateful to Whitney Leonard and David Krause — who are asking friends and family to consider making a donation to GMC in lieu of wedding gifts.
- Linda Dierks (1951-2021) was, among many things, an avid hiker who loved the Green Mountains of Vermont. At her request, donations to GMC are being accepted in her memory.
- Dan Walker, a life-long advocate of preserving and protecting forest lands for future generations, hiked the summits of Southern Vermont’s Deer Run Nature Preserve with his friend Sam Farwell and saw the beauty and panoramic views from the highest elevations of this 913 acre parcel. Dan understood the value this wilderness corridor provides bears, deer, turkey, bobcats and all other wild animals who need protection. He appreciated the specialness of the forest’s understory and canopy and to walk in a place that was silent and peaceful. Dan knew that preservation of this land cost time and money, and was a generous donor to GMC’s efforts purchase and conserve the land and provided funds to pay the taxes to keep the land safe.
